The Restoration Process

Restoration Options

At American Legacy Vehicles, we work with Jeep owners, collectors, and fans who want something more special than just another old Jeep. Whether you pick one from our inventory or bring us your own, you get clear information, honest guidance, and a simple, no-drama process from the first conversation to the moment we hand you the keys. We usually lean toward preservation, keeping original paint, parts, and patina when it makes sense, because well-serviced factory drivetrains are simple, proven, and reliable to own and drive. If a full restoration or custom build is the right move, we can handle that too, and every Jeep we finish goes through a detailed checklist and road test so you can start enjoying it with confidence right away.

Buy a Jeep to Restore

  • Look through our current Jeeps and tell us how you want to use yours.
  • Go over the history, work done, tags, and registration paperwork with us.
  • Walk around the Jeep or take a test drive so you know exactly what you are getting.
  • Tell us what you want changed or upgraded, and we lay out the cost and timing clearly.
  • Sign off on the plan, finish the paperwork, and take your Jeep home.

Restore or Preserve Your Jeep

  • Submit your Jeep in and share what you want it to look and feel like when it is done.
  • We give it a full inspection to see what is original, what is worn, and what is possible.
  • We talk through options, from light preservation to full restoration, and set priorities with you.
  • We agree on a budget and timeline, then get started once you are comfortable.
  • We check in often, share any surprises, and adjust the plan together if needed.

Find or Build Your Ideal Jeep

  • Tell us what you are after: year, model, look, features, and how you plan to use it.
  • We search our network for strong candidates or decide together that a custom build is best.
  • We review the options, budget, and timing with you so everything is clear.
  • You approve the plan, and we either buy the Jeep or start the build in our shop.
  • We keep you in the loop with updates and photos, then do a final shakedown before you get the keys.
